FAQ

Who is the final boss in KIBORG?
Novak. Steam lists a "Novak's Doom" achievement, and the 14 June 2025 Steam news says that after defeating Novak you can continue your run in Endless Mode. KIBORG: Descent adds its own boss encounters, covered in the Descent guide.
Why does damage feel low on the final boss?
Geisteskrankenchan, a KIBORG team member replying in Steam discussions, says bosses have a damage buffer to prevent you from killing them too quickly, and calls it a band-aid against overpowered sets. It is separate from your damage on normal enemies.
Does Remedium work on the final boss?
One player reported in November 2025 that bosses seemed highly resistant to statuses and that only super moves worked. The reply explained the damage buffer and did not confirm status immunity. Treat Remedium on bosses as unconfirmed.
What damage pattern does the team suggest?
KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan suggests using the Ki Explosion super attack to stagger the boss and shooting it with your primary gun while it is down. He adds that you can still combine different combos and weapons to maximize damage.
What did patches change about Novak?
The 11 May 2026 Rapid Patch #5 fixed Novak and Demon wave attacks so one attack could not damage you more than once, which had felt like an instakill. It also closed a way to skip a fight in the final location.

If your build one-shots rooms and then the final boss takes forever, that is not necessarily a bug. A KIBORG team member says bosses have a damage buffer. This page collects that statement, the facts about Novak, and the patches that touched the fight. Sobaka Studio has not published boss HP, phase counts or weaknesses, and we have not fought it for this wiki, so none are given.

Who is the final boss in KIBORG?

Novak. Two official pieces fit together:

  • Steam’s achievement list includes Novak’s Doom, alongside Asteroid Breaker (defeat Asteroid) and Whisper’s End.
  • The 14 June 2025 Endless update says: “After defeating Novak, you can now continue your run in Endless Mode.”

KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan said the same in August 2025: defeat the final boss and you get an option to continue endlessly. KIBORG: Descent adds its own bosses afterward; see the Descent guide.

How does the damage buffer work?

In November 2025 a player who had finished Difficulty 7 asked why the last boss felt so slow after they had one-shot everything else on a Difficulty 1 test run. KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan (his Steam profile says he works on the game as a 3D animator) answered:

The bosses have a damage buffer to prevent you from killing them too quickly. It’s kind of a band-aid to counter overpowered sets.

No patch note we read gives a buffer value, a UI marker or any per-difficulty scaling for it. Treat numbers about “effective HP” from forums as unconfirmed.

What does the team recommend for damage?

When the same player asked how to stay effective, he replied that you can still combine different combos and weapons to maximize damage output, and that he personally likes to use the Ki Explosion super attack to stagger a boss and shoot it with the primary gun while it is down. That is a team member’s tip, not a proven optimal build. More on set choice is in the best builds guide.

Do statuses and Remedium work on the final boss?

The same player reported that bosses seemed immune or very resistant to statuses and debuffs, especially the last boss, and that super moves were the only way to deal damage on their test run. That is one player report. The reply described the damage buffer and did not confirm status immunity. A January 2026 poster separately says the third boss does not take status buildup on higher difficulties, especially 7, but gives no more detail and we cannot say which boss they mean. Details on the set are on the Remedium build page.

What have patches changed about the fight?

  • 1 July 2025: boss damage scaling per level reduced by about 20%, and boss damage processing was updated.
  • 26 June 2025: Endless got reduced one-shot risk and faster-scaling difficulty.
  • 14 June 2025: the Asteroid boss base HP was raised by 400 and a bug that spawned it at too high a level on the first difficulty was fixed.
  • 11 May 2026 (Rapid Patch #5): Novak and Demon wave attacks fixed so one attack cannot damage you more than once, which had felt like an instakill. A way to skip a fight in the final location was closed.

These show the encounter is still being tuned, so older advice may be out of date.

How should you prepare before attempting the final boss?

  • Know the ladder. Tower difficulty runs 1 to 7 and Beyond the Summit tracks a Difficulty 7 clear. See the difficulty guide.
  • Check your mutators. A player noted that a mutator disabling ranged weapons makes flying enemies hard to hit and said that includes the final boss when it flies. That is a player claim. The mutators guide covers the Commando counter the team mentions.
  • Plan a stagger. Ki Explosion into your primary gun is the only boss tactic the team has stated.
