FAQ

How many implant sets are in KIBORG?
At least ten are named in Steam news: Blur, Guardian, Gunslinger, Thundergod, Source, Fenrir, Remedium, Sovereign, Commando and, from August 2026, Showstopper. We found no official total, so treat any single number as unconfirmed.
What are the seven implant slots?
Head, torso, spine, heart, and the two arms and legs, according to Gazettely: head, torso, arms (two), legs, spine and heart. Player layouts on Reddit use the same names. Each slot takes one implant.
How do you unlock Commando and Remedium?
The 15 June 2026 patch notes say Master of the Spire (Difficulty 4) rewards Commando and Beyond the Summit (Difficulty 7) rewards Remedium. Two players reported in June 2026 that Commando still did not show up after they cleared Difficulty 7, so check your own save.
Did the Descent DLC add implant sets?
KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan said in June 2026 that all existing sets are available in the base game, with no Descent needed. A Gamer Social Club review says there are no new sets until you finish the greatest Descent difficulty. Showstopper arrived in a separate update on 3 August 2026.
Can you mix implants from different sets?
Yes. KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan says implants are balanced to be equally fun as a mix or a complete set, and every set grants a bonus when you equip each part of it. Since 11 May 2026 augmentations that needed 4 pieces of a set need 3.

KIBORG’s implants are built around seven body slots, and Steam news names at least ten sets that fill them. Sobaka Studio does not publish a complete in-game compendium on the web, so this page lists what the patch notes and announcements actually say, and marks the rest as not documented. Build advice is on the best builds page.

What are the seven implant slots?

Gazettely’s review lists them as head, torso, arms (two), legs, spine and heart, each accepting one implant, and Steam’s June 2025 notes refer to “all 7 Source Implants”. Player layouts on Reddit use the same slot names. Since 11 May 2026, augmentations that required 4 implants from a set need only 3.

How many implant sets exist?

Sobaka Studio has not published a total. These are the sets we could confirm in official posts, with the source for each:

Set Evidence in official posts Unlock rule in sources
Blur 30 May 2025 balance changes; 26 June 2025 notes Not documented
Guardian 30 May 2025 and 14 June 2025 notes Not documented
Gunslinger 16 May 2025 and 30 May 2025 notes; 15 June 2026 rebalance Not documented
Thundergod 30 May 2025 and 1 July 2025 notes Not documented
Source 30 May 2025 notes; 14 June 2025 rework Not documented
Fenrir 16 and 30 May 2025 notes; 1 July 2025 Heart buff Not documented
Remedium 30 May 2025 and 15 June 2026 notes Beyond the Summit, Difficulty 7
Sovereign 30 May and 14 June 2025 notes Not documented
Commando 5 November 2025 “COMMANDO update!” Master of the Spire, Difficulty 4
Showstopper 3 August 2026 “Showstopper update” Not documented

That is ten distinct names. Steam also has achievements named Gunslinger’s Gambit, Thunderstruck, Blurred Reality, Source of Life, Guardian’s Will, Fenrir’s Howl and Crown of the Sovereign, which line up with the first seven set names above; we only read the full-set text for Gunslinger and Thundergod.

The 15 June 2026 post teased a future implant set called CLOWN alongside Arena 7. On 3 August the circus-themed Showstopper set shipped with Arena 7. Neither post says the two are the same, so we do not state it.

What changed in recent patches?

  • 30 May 2025: implant primary stats, such as shields from Guardian or energy from Thundergod, are unlocked from the beginning of the game.
  • 15 June 2025: a hotfix made agents drop implants correctly after Arena 3 and entering the Tower.
  • 30 April 2026: implant drops are now fully random.
  • 9 May 2026: an implant preview screen was added in the Arsenal.
  • 11 May 2026: augmentations that required 4 implants from a set now require 3.

What does each set do?

Public sources do not give a complete table of what each of the seven pieces does. What the notes do say, set by set:

Set Official notes, summarized
Blur 30 May 2025: secondary stats give more speed (5% to 10%), the fire damage bonus from attack chains rose (0.1% to 0.3%), Blur Spine slow-motion was reduced, the major synergy attack-chain duration bonus went from +1s to +3s. 26 June 2025: damage over time from status effects no longer resets attack chains
Guardian 30 May 2025: an outdated part of the minor synergy removed; new major synergy where each shield increases melee damage by 1%. 14 June 2025: synergy starting bonus 1% to 5%
Gunslinger 16 May 2025: high-end augmentations reduced because the set escalated too fast. 30 May 2025: left-hand knives travel farther. 15 June 2026: legs, torso and Gauss revolver rebalanced; head restores energy when hitting weak points
Thundergod See the Thundergod build. Heart reworked on 1 July 2025
Source 30 May 2025: stronger bonuses with other implants, more ally damage. 14 June 2025: all 7 Source Implants reworked, with debuffs and individual summon effects removed and global synergistic effects added
Fenrir 16 May 2025: minor synergy gives more health pickups, altars drop melee weapons instead of health packs. 30 May 2025: altars count all deaths in the zone. 1 July 2025: Heart effect needs 3 kills instead of 5
Remedium See the Remedium build
Sovereign See the Sovereign build
Commando 5 November 2025: described as focused on boosting explosions and projectile-based abilities. 15 June 2026: mines now only activate when placed on the ground
Showstopper 3 August 2026: circus-themed, built on traps, high risk and high reward. Uses Hell Boxes, a unicycle and the Wabbazam Hammer, which drains your blood instead of weapon durability. Resurrection with a Kinky Balloon, more damage as health drops, and 15 new augmentations. A 6 August rapid patch fixed several Showstopper behavior issues

Did Descent or later updates add sets?

The Descent store page lists biomes, enemies, bosses and difficulty levels, not implant sets. KIBORG team member Geisteskrankenchan (his Steam profile says he works on the game as a 3D animator) said all existing sets are available in the base game. Gamer Social Club’s review says there are no new implant sets until you finish the greatest Descent difficulty. Those may describe different things (ownership versus unlock timing), so we leave set unlock timing as unconfirmed. See the Descent guide. The Showstopper set shipped in a separate update on 3 August 2026, not in the Descent store text.
